Tigers Shoe Making

Guess what? Luka, Ophelia, Mihi and Krystal made shoes this week for reading because we read an article called 'These boots are made for walking.' First we got shoe boxes and we cut a hole to put our feet in. Then we decorated the outside and stuffed the inside with newspaper to make them comfy.

Fractions

Also this week we found out our awesome names that Miss Robinson gave our maths groups, they are the Fabulous Fractions, Dazzling Decimals, Perky Percentages, and the Prancing Proportions. Did you know these names have alliteration? We have been doing all sorts of cool things in maths including cutting up and sharing wafers evenly.

Singing

Guess what? You'll never guess what we have been doing with Miss Marquet... We have been singing maori songs like, A haka ma and Whakarongo ake au. We might share it in assembly soon because Miss Robinson heard us practising and thinks we sounded really good and so does Miss Marquet.

Culture Wheels

Not only have we been singing but we have also been learning about other cultures with Miss Marquet. All people have different cultures and personalitites. In our class we have lots of different cultures and personalities.

Rugby World Cup

Did you know it is the Rugby World Cup this year and even better it is in NEW ZEALAND!! We have been learning a little bit about the rugby world cup and who will be coming to New Zealand to play. We found out that the following teams will be competing, NZ (The best), France, Tonga, Canada, Japan, Argentina, England, Scotland, Georgia, Romania, Australia, Ireland, Italy, Russia, USA, South Africa, Wales, Fiji, Samoa and Namibia. We are going to have lots of visitors from all around the world in NZ.

Miss Robinsons Birthday

Guess what on Monday it was Miss Robinsons birthday. We suprised her by singing happy birthday to her, she thought we were pretty awesome. Then she gave us wafers which was awesome then we had some fruit.

Lunchtime Fun

It was an ordinary week apart from Geneva, Myah, Tessa, Maggie and Emily played stiff candles during lunchtime. We played it in the classroom because it has been too wet or too cold to go outside. We couldn't wait until lunchtime arrived and after quickly eating our lunch the music went on and the crazy dancing started.

For those of you who do not know how to play stiff candles listen up.

1) Put the rocking music on

2) Start dancing

3) Have someone to start and stop the music because when the music stops you have to freeze untill the music is turned back on. If you move you are out.
4) Play fair and have fun!

We had lots of fun having our rocking week! What sorts of games do you play on a wet day in your classroom?

Maggies week

Maggie has had an awesome week, she has been up to all sorts of fun things. Maggie learnt how to blow bubbles, she had a great time blowing bubbles all around the school. The bubbles were fun to watch go POP! This week Maggie made her very own train circuit with paper and egg cartons, and it even had a tunnel. She has also been busy taking pictures around the school and then writing about some of her photos. Today Miss Robinson and Maggie played Dora spelling games on the interactive whiteboard, Maggie was soooo good at them!

Buddy Reading

Today after interval b4 came into our class for some buddy reading. It was great! What fantastic readers they have in their. We hope they will come in for some more buddy reading soon.
